Growing a Wisteria vine is fairly easy, as your local garden store will tell you. One critical piece in the success of growing your Wisteria is the right structure for it to grow on! You need at least a 3' wide pergola or arbor for the vine to have enough space to spread out. A Wisteria can grow very long, so have a plan for exactly how long you want the vine to be. The last key ingredient is in the posts. Wisteria vines are very heavy, and it's advisable to insist on 6x6 posts for your pergola or arbor.
